This time last year Canons lead in the compact digital camera market looked unassailable, but now it is facing strong competition from Panasonic, Samsung and Sony. Its not giving up without a fight though, and has launched a new Autumn line-up including some very impressive cameras, not least this IXUS 870 IS (PowerShot SD880 IS in America), a 10.0-megapixel, 4x zoom ultra-compact featuring a 28mm wide-angle and a 3-inch PureColour LCD monitor.
